today I would like to share about my new born baby -- Project L.
"KONSTRUKTOR DIY 35mm Lomography Camera"
The reason my dear and I called it Project L,
Because it's LOMOGRAPHY.
This is a DIY kit,
which mean we build our own camera!
We bought it at Kinokuniya bookstore,
costed us RM124 for this kit.
We think it is quite reasonable for a camera.
I assume not many people know about KONSTRUKTOR,
so I am quoting the introduction from the lomography website.
Hope you can know more about it before we going in to the details.
KONSTRUKTOR 35mm diy slr camera, the world’s first 35mm plastic SLR, and you can assemble it yourself. This camera is packed with features such as a top-down viewfinder, multiple exposure function, bulb setting for long exposures and a detachable lens—taking your analogue experience to new creative heights. -- Lomography

- 35mm (135) Film
- Detachable 50mm f/10 Lens (only through deconstruction)
- Shutter Speed: 1/80s with multiple exposures
- Focus Distance: 0.5m – Infinity
- Dimensions: 121 × 33 × 65mm
The box itself is beautiful;
it is a 3-sided fold kit,
with this fold down design,
we, buyer can easily carry the kit upon purchase.
The kit contains stickers, parts, screws, screwdrivers, mirror, user guide, etc.
It took us around 1 to 2 hours,
same as the time usage mentioned on the box, to build the camera.
We was doing our own timelapse, however failed due to technical problem.
So, we only can present the official timelapse by Lomography.
See video below for the fast forward assemble process of the camera.
or read on the website: http://microsites.lomography.com/konstruktor/
Final Touches
After assembling every single part,
KONSTRUKTOR 35mm SLR is completely built!
The stickers provided in the kit allow the owner to customize the camera.
However, we prefer the original appearance,
so we did not add any sticker on it.
It is completely your own will to decide how you camera look like.
Loading Film
It's very simple to load the film.
Do you still remember the day without digital camera?
We were still using film.
The loading is same in this camera.
If you not sure about it,
check the user guide - Loading the film
After all these procedure,
your camera is ready to SHOOT!!!
We have used 3 rolls of films till now.
Next post, I will share about the shooting experience.
Stay tune, people. ;)
Below are some samples photos by the official website.
